Dr. McPhilamy’s journey to becoming a respected orthopedic surgeon began at the prestigious Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, where he achieved a bachelor’s degree in human physiology. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency in Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by an orthopedic trauma surgery fellowship in Reno, Nevada.

These experiences gave Dr. McPhilamy new insight and increased his expertise in total joint replacement surgery and traumatized patient care. He’s also an expert in hip, knee, and shoulder reconstruction, joint revision surgery, and minimally invasive direct anterior hip replacements. He’s certified in Mako® robotically assisted surgery, enabling patients to benefit from the latest technological advances, such as patient-specific component positioning and precision instrumentation.
